The fund was founded by Mike and Angela Dina of Houston Texas, who's son Charlie was diagnosed with stage-4 neuroblastoma at the age of four. The Dinas established this 501c(3) non-profit organization to advocate for greater prioritization of childhood cancer research, and to support all families and children battling pediatric cancer. For more information visit TurnItGold.org or check them out on Facebook. The Ohio Bobcats have joined the fight! They will dedicate their September 13th Volleyball game vs. UCONN, the October 6th Soccer Match vs. Bowling Green, and the September 21st Football game vs. Louisiana on Parents Weekend to this worthy cause. You can join the fight too, and show your support for the Bobcats, by purchasing the official Go Gold Game tee shirt online here, or at College Book Store in uptown Athens. The Ohio University Scripps College of Communication produced a feature-length documentary film entitled Realistically Ever After which details the journey of the Dina Family as well as the various efforts - locally and throughout the country - to support the Turn It Gold fund. This documentary film is currently available on Amazon. For more information or to support the project, please contact Dr. Lynn Harter via the Scripps College of Communication's Storytelling Institute.
